THe map posted by SouthFloridawx scares the heck out of me. Stays closer to the Chesapeake piling water all up the west side of the bay, flooding Annapolis and into Baltimore and causing surge up each river on the Easter Shore, in addition to the severe flooding and devasting destruction in the Norfolk/Hampton areas. Downtown DC could also be hit real hard (antiquated sewer systems and low elevation and Potomac all combining)

I doubt it would "wipe out" cape cod. Cape cod has seen 75mph wind gusts in Nor'easters before...it will make no difference with this storm (except for may be a little more surge..but truly the surge would likely never top 7 feet in this scenario).wxmann_91 wrote:That scenario would probably compare to Katrina's current estimated total damage, as it would wipe out the Keys, Miami, and Cape Cod.

Perhaps I was a bit too bullish when I said "wipe out"; still, Cape Cod would suffer extreme damage in the hurricane (and noreasters have done very extreme damage in Cape Cod). Also they are completely unprepared for such a scenario, as was evidenced by Ophelia last year.
