LOL....

I worked recovery in Navarre, and I didn't see any evidence of an actual storm surge except for on Santa Rosa Island, and even that wasn't bad. I believe 5-6 feet was tops.

In St. Marks? Still wasn't very big. St Marks is very low lying and easily flooded due to the shape of Apalachee Bay.

The severe storm surge was in St. Marks/ Carbelle well east of Dennis and there were other factors that caused the high surge.

Dennis' storm surge was not nearly as big as Ivan's or Katrina's.But I don't see what's so funny about that considering a lot of people lost their homes down in Navarre during that storm and from what I've seen there was plenty of evidence of an actual storm surge,it just wasn't as catestrophic.

The "LOL" wasn't for the storm surge...it was for the Dr's reaction. Yes, there was evidence of a storm surge, but barely any at all.

Rita may well have had "gusts" in the 200 mph range while at peak out in the Gulf, just as did Katrina, and Rita's intensity was was briefly greater (lower central pressure) I believe second only to Wilma... but neither storm had sustained winds approaching that figure.

it's strong life time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Sir or Madam,

We regret to inform you that you have exhausted your lifetime supply of exclamation points. In the past we have allowed those over their limit to purchase more exclamation points for careful usage; however, due to many internet posters there is, at this time, a shortage of such punctuation items and we are unable to deliver any more exclamation points at this time or in the foreseeable future.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Sincerely,
The US Bureau of Punctuation Overuse

Seriously. My main problem though is if the post just makes absolutely no sense, or if I have no idea what the poster is trying to get across. I thought he was asking a question, then he said he wasn't, then Dennis was brought up from who knows where, and now I'm just confused? I still don't know if I answered his question or not.

On here, I try my best to understand what the poster is trying to ask/get across. Sometimes it is just difficult.

I believe there was one of 235mph

Well, from my understanding that the sustained to gust ratio is MUCH lower over water than over land, (where it can vary from 1.2 to 1.6 of sustained from what I've read of pro mets on this site). Now the NHC gives Rita a peak of 155 KTS, or around 178 mph (round it to 180 just for simplicity sake), This would allow for peak gusts over water, from (and I'm guesstimating here, 1.2-1.3) 216 to 234 so it is possible; but I feel that's a tad on the overestimating side. Like I said earlier, I have no doubt that at peak intensity her wind gusts might have reached or exceeded 200 mph, I'm dubious at best of wind extremes such as those suggested--not that it's impossible; just I'm extremely dubious of it.

Dear Sir or Madam,

We noticed you have found more exclamation points. It is our duty to stop any and all illegal punctuation distribution sites. If you do not give us the name of your supplier, we will be forced to remove your spacebar.
