I don't see a reason to retire Emily, if Mexico didn't ask for retirement, then what is the reasoning behind it? It is their choice. BTW, a Cat 5 making landfall but producing no damage or death whatsoever, will not be retired, period. I recall that it is not how powerful a storm gets, it's how much damage and death it causes.
So I'm not going to sign the petition. But you all continue to do so, just voicing my opinion.
