I was at my local walgreens yesterday and walked by the discounted items shelf and found a wx radio valued on the internet at 50 dollars for only 10 dollars. Its the Midland WR100 which comes with an alarm clock and digital display as well as same for up to 25 counties http://www.midlandradio.com/comersus/st ... oduct=3105 . Not sure why it was only $10 or if its the same at all walgreens but thought I'd mention it with the upcoming hurricane season. BTW Florida Hurricane tax free days are coming up May21-June 1. Be a part of the ‘culture of preparedness’ in Florida. Pretty weird that they are referring to hurricanes as part of floridas 'culture' now. http://www.floridadisaster.org/
As to my question, the directions say the radio will sound different alerts for types of warnings like tornado watch vs tornado warning and hurricane watch vs hurricane warning etc. I understand how this is possible with tornado watch/warning but how so with a hurricane watch vs hurricane warning? The only products issued locally about hurricanes is the Hurricane local statement which if I remember correctly, doesnt even sound the alarm on a radio. Maybe im wrong and didnt have my radio in alert when the last storm threatenned but I dont recall mine going off for a HLS. Or Maybe its just the local NWS in Jax doesnt sound the alarm for hurricane info- I dunno.
Digital Weather Radios W/Same $10, Question about alarm.....
