My eyes are on the Heartland, not the Atlantic right now.

I'm not sure if jschlitz posted that by accident or to perhaps tell everybody here running a 9 page thread on a meaningless system that won't develop that more serious things are going on right now within our borders.

Good point, jschlitz! That is what we REALLY need to be concerned about, not this system.

9 pages in something that is not even worth to talk about. Let see how much attention will ALberto have when it forms.

Oh good gravy. :D

I can see some of you are going to need to post a "bear with us" instead of a "bears watching"

I can't believe ya'll fell for this. There is absolutely NOTHING where it's supposed to be, and it looks exactly like TD 1(Arlene) from last year. :P

No worries, Aquawind, I knew you knew. Someone mentioned that many visitors were stopping in, and I didn't want someone doing a 6pm news with: "According to popular weather site Storm2K, there is a tropical disturbance ...." LOL!

Edit: Love those fantastic radar images... just have no idea what state they are in! Software devs.. wish they'd always include lat/lon.

AFM, take a deep breath, have a beer on me! I've loved your comments today about FEMA, you are MY HERO!!

this thread - I must have missed the part about evacuating... did someone really say that??? LOL!!

We are (again) talking about 2 different things here.

The first, a TEST email ADVISORY from NHC about a fictitious storm.

The second, 91L.INVEST area of 'interest'. 35kt winds, naked swirl. Yes, it's just a cold-core storm. No, it's not going to be a bangup Cat5 and level half the planet, nor even a hurricane, for that matter. BUT it IS a wakeup that season is coming.

And, who here would ignore it while setting off for 1600mile blue water crossing in your 26' sailboat dead on to it's position??? hmmm??? anyone???
That, as I said is why I plan to watch it.

If it makes you feel any better, this isn't the only weather board where people got fooled.

There is low shear ahead of this invest. Maybe we will get something subtropical? I'm not sure what to make of this.

Where do you get those maps?
