Just a little reminder

While we all SAY we do these prep things, it's obvious from many posts over the past hurricane seasons that standing in frustrating long lines unnecessarily (and sometimes without success) happens to many. If you haven't been stocking up all year, it's time to start now...a little here a little there, check the sales for foods, batteries, etc. before you're left thirsty and hungry in the dark 8-)

Just a noticed thing for update...I've just seen the Hurricane Preparation forum here and it is well worthwhile to check out - sometimes we need to see people we *know* remind us help us remember this is real stuff

I am way behind. Used most everything up last season. I must get started now. Thanks for the reminder. I do have pleanty of vienna sausage though (YUCK). I will be happy to never eat another of those. Need to get the batteries and lamp oil now. They sell out way too fast when a storm approaches. :eek: :eek:

The Vienna sausage bit made me laugh...here in PR and in the VI's, they sell about 12 or more DIFFERENT kinds of the stuff...ugh! I try to keep at least two cans of something I can't stand around - I think it wards off hurricanes, so I am not forced to eat it!

I guess I am odd. I love vienna sausages. SPAM is always present in my pantry too.

A can of Vienna sausages (aka.....monkey d*cks), a couple crackers and a bottle of water tasted darned good in the first days after the storms landfall. :ggreen:

Ewww, you guys are bad. I actually like vienna wieners. I will never think about them the same now. Thanks. :wink: :lol: And no your not odd joesph my whole family likes them, from my dad to my kids.

I LOVE vienna sausages but also love those smoked oysters. Got to try them for people who don't like the vienna sausages. I could live happily on the oysters for a few weeks.

I used to love them but spend 3 days with that as your main food source and they get old very fast. My dear grandson who would not touch them (2 y/o) after the storm--we thought he was going to starve to death--now loves them. Go figure. I will be looking for alternate choices from now on, but I have to say I will NOT stay here again. Way too much excitment for this old lady. Running outside to kick sheets of metal away from the patio door to keep it from breaking was not fun. Having debris, large debris, blow by your head when out there saving the glass doors was not fun either. :roll:
