Extreme Makeover: Home Edition tonight - Sabine Pass, Texas

#1 Postby southerngale » Fri Apr 14, 2006 2:52 pm

After the Storm: Texas

Friday, April 14, 2006 on ABC 8/7c

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition rebuilds beloved community touchstones in hurricane-ravaged Sabine Pass, Texas, including the town's only firehouse and its theatre in an attempt to bring back life and hope to this town. In addition, team captain Ty Pennington takes local families on a shopping spree at a nearby Sears for much-needed necessities, and a surprise free concert for the town given by the Goo Goo Dolls.

"We can't rebuild everyone's home," said Paul DiMeo, a carpenter with the show, so the show started with "anchor" structures in the community to help the recovery.

I posted about it in the Hurricane Recovery & Aftermath forum when I first found out about it, but since it's tonight, I figured some y'all might want to watch and you'd be more likely to see it here. It was filmed in early March.

Well, did anyone watch?? I'm talking to myself here.

It was so emotional for me...I don't know how many times my eyes teared up, and I even cried some. Ty Pennington and crew were so compassionate, like they really cared. They did an incredible job and really helped Sabine Pass. Not just structurally, but seemed to give them a real sense of hope as well.

I saw parts of it. The fire fighters were really blown away by what they did for them, as was I.
