I think that was an EastPac system named Dora in 1999 or so... satellite pictures weren't that beautiful back then :)

EDIT: Also, the sat used was the GOES Infrared Imagery, sat image taken at 0300Z 13 August 1999...hope that answers some q's...:lol:

That radar image of Dora looks a bit like Jeanne (2004) and Wilma (2005) when they were approaching/over Florida...
