http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/tafb_latest/GULF_latest.gif

TAFB seems to think the main low is in the gulf and the pressures support that. Satellite shows a skeleton low but there are several ships below 1012 mb. It is hard to tell from radar whether it is much of a low off florida or not, just a weak one perhaps. The low levels are certainly NE over S Florida but those echoes way away from the radar are pretty high up there.. so it is a mess. Certainly an inverted trough and maybe a closed low.. there is a giant outflow boundary rolling out of the south side of it so it messed up the wind fields...

GULF OF MEXICO AND ATLC W OF 65W...
AN UPPER TROUGH IS ESTABLISHED OVER THE EASTERN GULF AND W ATLC.
AT THE SURFACE...A COLD FRONT CONTINUES TO MOVE SEWARD AND AS OF
0900 UTC...IT ENTERS THE AREA NEAR 32N67W TO 27N76W THEN
STATIONARY ACROSS S FLORIDA TO A 1008 MB LOW LOCATED NEAR 25N85W
THEN SOUTHWARD AS A DISSIPATING COLD FRONT THRU THE YUCATAN
CHANNEL. SURFACE FORCING AND UPPER LEVEL SUPPORT IS PRODUCING
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED TSTMS WITHIN 150 NM ON EITHER
SIDE OF THE FRONT N AND E OF THE LOW WITH SHOWER ACTIVITY MORE
ISOLATED AND DISSIPATING S OF THE LOW. A BAND OF RAIN HAS FORMED
AND PERSISTED FOR THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS ON THE N SIDE OF THE
1008 MB LOW. MIAMI DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES SCATTERED SLOW MOVING
TSTMS MAINLY ALONG THE COAST AND OFFSHORE. S OF THE
BOUNDARY...THE STORMS ARE MOVING SLOWLY EWARD WHILE N OF THE
BOUNDARY...THE SHOWERS AND TSTMS ARE BEING DRIVEN ONSHORE BY
THE NE FLOW. A PRE-FRONTAL TROUGH EXTENDS FROM E CUBA TO 26N72W.
BROKEN TO OVERCAST SKIES AND SCATTERED SHOWERS ARE ENHANCED BY
THIS FEATURE. A DISSIPATING STATIONARY FRONT REMAINS BANKED UP
AGAINST THE S SIERRA MADRE MOUNTAINS WHERE LOW CLOUDS AND FOG IS
LINGERING. MUCH DRIER AIR HAS BECOME ESTABLISHED ACROSS THE GULF
DRIVEN BY ENE/NE 20 KT WINDS BEHIND THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY. STRONG
SUBSIDENCE UNDER MID-UPPER RIDGING IS NOTED N OF 23N. CONTINUED
FAIR WEATHER IS EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF THE GULF THROUGH
MID-WEEK AS SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS TO THE NE OF THE AREA
AND MID-UPPER RIDGING BUILDS OVERHEAD. UNSETTLED WEATHER IS
POSSIBLE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS ACROSS S FLORIDA AS WEAK LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEMS REMAIN IN THE VICINITY.

EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED, JUST A FEW LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS TO MAKE OUR DAILY LIFE A LITTLE WET OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS!!!! BYE DRY WEATHER!!! :raincloud:

Christy,

It's called GRLevel3. It's not a website or anything...it's software. There's a 30 day trial, but once you purchase it, the new version has TONS of additions. You can get it here.

Definately. It may take a while of getting used to but once you do, you can customize it however you wish. Comparible programs cost hundreds and even thousands of dollars. There are 2 other radar programs that's in the same price range as this one, but they don't even come close to what you get with GRLevel3.

Christy, the GRLevel3 also supports FTP upload if you have a website. You can check out mine at http://www.skysummitweather.com

Most of the time it's centered on my home area, however, if I'm monitoring severe weather in other parts of the country or tropical weather, it'll show that. It also supports street level zooming like the example below....

Now remember...you can customize that radar to look however you wish. If you purchase, you'll get access to the owner's forum which anyone in there can help you...including me. There are TONS of different options. I also subscribe to Allisonhouse.com's data which gives the metar data along with storm reports, lightning strikes, hurricane plots, and more.
