Is that time again. One hour of less sleep for almost all of you next saturday night in the U.S mainland and I say almost because in some states there is no change to daylight savings time. Here in Puerto Rico there is no change of clocks. From April 2 at 2:00 AM EDT we will be at the same time as New York City,Boston,Atlanta,Miami.

I love this, no matter what timezone, because I can mow the yard on a weekday instead of a weekend. YAH!

You and me both! For some reason, it takes me forever to get used to the "Spring Forward" change. "Fall Back" is much easier. Can't we just pick one and stick to it? Pleeeeeze?!

Yes, and I notice its came earlier this year (it used to begin the last sunday in April) and will end later (in November instead of October). So there will be more hours of daylight even longer.

Daylight savings gets longer
The House approved a new bill that would extend the schedule of Daylight Savings Time in an effort to save some of the nation's energy.

Daylight-saving time would start three weeks earlier and run through Halloween under a change included in an energy bill approved Thursday by the House.
The energy legislation was expected to be passed by the Senate, probably Friday, and sent to President Bush.
The time change is supposed to save energy because people have more daylight in the evening and do not have to turn on lights.
The House had approved a two-month extension --- one in the spring and the other in the fall.
But that was scaled back after airline officials complained that the extension would cause problems with intentional flight schedules.
Farmers said the change would adversely affect livestock.
Some senators also questioned how much actual energy savings would be achieved.
"We ought to take a hard look at this before we jump into it," said Sen.
The bill calls for a study into energy savings from daylight-saving time.
Edward Markey, D-Mass., and Fred Upton, R-Mich., agreed to scale back their original proposal.
The revised plan would begin daylight-saving time three weeks earlier, on the second Sunday in March and extend it by one week to the first Sunday in November.
The extension would begin in March 2007.
Upton noted that the extension means daylight-saving time will continue through Halloween, adding to safety.
"Kids across the nation will soon rejoice," he said, as they get another hour of daylight trick-or-treating.
"The beauty of daylight-saving time is that it just makes everyone feel sunnier," Markey said.

Luis, I have been waiting for this since October (when time rolled back an hour)!
I can't wait to get off from work at 5pm, drive home from work for 30 minutes,
and STILL have plenty of daylight to play out in the yard! Daylight Rules!

I actually like Spring Forward better. I never gain an hour of sleep during Fall Back, just wake up earlier. Of course, I'll be up at the time change as well. :P

I love Spring, but I do tend to lose that hour of sleep in the Spring but gain it in the Fall.
