Hurricanes don't use clocks
"79 days
1919 hours
115199 minutes
6911968 seconds"
That's assuming that a hurricane knows what 6,911,968 seconds are. They don't care what a second is, and don't care about the "official season". We could have a major storm strike near the end of May, for instance. As far as I am concerned, hurricane season starts when somewhere, somewhen, on some web site or meteorological report , someone reports that some "interesting activity" is happening.

Last Year's Sea Temperatures
Thanks for the links on the sea temperatures. They and Weather Underground are good ways of getting current ocean temperatures.
But how do you get a map of sea temperatures on 2005 March 15? I would like to compare this year with last year.

I love the addition of seconds, you actually needs to know how many seconds before the start of the season!
Still the days are really ticking down now, weren't so long we were at 100 days!
