My early predictions are 13-14/7/4

Actually, IMO, I think my numbers may be a little high.

I noticed that after every hyperactive year (such as 1996 and 1934) the numbers of named storms were significantly lower.

1995 had a total of 19 named storms. 1996 only had 13.
1933 had a total of 21 named storms. 1934 only had 11.

One difference with the year after is that the ratio of named storms to hurricanes was much higher. In 1996, 9 out of the 13 stroms that had developed became hurricanes. In 1934, 6 out of the 11 storms that had developed became hurricanes, but of course that was in the pre satellite and recon era. So the real numbers may never be known.

Calamity 2004 was quite a season as well, and look what 2005 brung. As long as there is a La Nina and the waters are warm enough we will get more storms than average.

CapeVerdeWave this thread does not have to be stickied as I know that the members are aware of the poll starting on the 15th as I haved been announcing it since late January. However the poll will be with a sticky until May 31 at Midnight EDT when the poll closes as it has been in the past 3 years.

By the way the poll will be up from 7:00 AM EST so those early bird members who may want to post the numbers from the start of the poll you will have it up there.

So we can post our numbers now, even though it's not 7 AM EST?

I'm guessing...20/13/5.
