Quick question

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I believe that Accuweather was predicting Ophelia to cross the Florida peninsula and strike New Orleans. Due to being evacuated with no internet or tv for quite awhile I'm not quite sure of all the details. I too would be interested in seeing a link or other info concerning that forecast path. Also if interested check out my post on the Corp & Levee Board meeting this coming Thursday night.

Agreed.

If anyone has a link to that article it'd be appreciated.

my wife, who has no more than a passing interest in weather, has taken to calling them crackuweather. Whenever our local met uses accuweather maps or forecast she accuses him of being on crackuweather...cracks me up

It wasn't such a stretch to forecast the possibility for Ophelia to cross Florida and head toward SE LA. Here's a model plot from back then, showing the best model for Katrina (GFDL) forecasting a SE LA landfall. We were actually forecasting Ophelia to go west across Florida for a while.

yes, even if you read the boards here there was a lot of uncertainty. I suppose things always look different on Monday morning hehe.
