Yes, the Intermountain West is almost completely ignored by almost every weather organization. I live in Salt Lake City, so I would know. Logan, north of Salt Lake City, got about 3 feet of snow at about the same time as Reno got their record snowstorms, but yet it was hardly mentioned anywhere. Same when we got 2-4 feet of snow here in Salt Lake City (almost 10 feet in some mountain areas) in December 2003, and there's hardly anything about it anywhere on the Internet (I wouldn't know if it was mentioned on TWC, because I lost power for almost 5 days).
