This poll is in general terms about what you think about the GOM being active, moderate active or not active that includes homegrown and systems moving into the GOM from the Caribbean.
I say it will be a moderate activity 2006 season for the GOM.
Dont forget to participate in the official Storm2k forecast numbers poll starting on March 15.

Let's see, 2004 was bad, 2005 was even worse, 2006...? I just DON'T have a good feeling about this years hurricane season. I think it will be very active once again with multiple gulf storms. This active period isn't just going to go away folks...
.
Also I've noticed a westward trend in major hurricane landfalls (or borderline cat 2s, same thing really) the past two years. Ex: Ivan (AL/FL) Katrina (LA/MS) Rita (LA/TX). Watch out Texas this year, just my personal prediction.

I agree. 1 major for the gulf with 2+ weaker systems. TX and WFL would be a good bet.

I think the Not Active GOM option at poll is a good one,no need to change the wording.

Personally... I would like to see two or three tropical storms or depressions make landfall along the southern Texas coast. Given the right recurvature and the ample moisture, that would be WONDERFUL for those living in central Texas, Oklahoma, western Arkansas, southeastern Kansas, and southwestern Missouri.
