Don't overestimate dreams. I believe in ESP. Do every one of my dreams come true? No they don't. But, several did. For months, before the beginning of hurricane season 2005, I had dreams of a violent hurricane hitting LA/MS. Especially New Orleans. All I could see was water and lots of howling winds. The dream did not happen once but several times. I had a gut feeling that New Orleans would get hit shortly before the 40 year anniversary of Betsy. And that it is what happened. I also had a dream around Sept or Oct of 2004 that it would snow here for Christmas Day. And it did. About 2 weeks ago, I had a dream about an awful tornado. I woke up 2 days later to severe weather. And there was a funnel cloud spotted in my town, but did not touch down. A tornado hit Kenner instead which was still recovering from Katrina.

That is weird that dreams are being mentioned. Last night I had a dream of a hurricane hitting Houston and I was standing outside watching pine trees buckle everywhere. It was extremely real feeling and scary. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come for Houston..

if you're dreaming about severe weather such as hurricanes and tornadoes, you're thinking about it too much....relax

I really wish there were something to this "overdue" theory. :cheesy: Hopefully we'll all escape a landfall. Wouldn't that be great?

I am not thinking about it really at all. I go to sleep at night and that is it. I don't plan on dreaming about anything. I don't always have weather dreams. Most of the time it is stupid dreams that don't make any sense. I think everyone should be prepared this year. Gulf Coast, through the Carolinas especially. It has been a very long time since New England saw anything. But, they should have a plan just in case. Don't wait until the last minute to have a hurricane plan and a hurricane kit ready just in case. I know everyone is dreading another hurricane season this year. Everyone on the Gulf Coast have been through more than enough.

Can Florida please get a good KEEP OUT sign for hurricanes, of course the hurricanes would ignore it.

I do think that FL will be hit this year again, only question being where and how hard. Wouldn't be surprised though if the east coast of the US (Carolinas and thereabouts) also gets hit. I do hope that LA and MS get left alone they got enough damage to last a few lifetimes from Katrina.

I still think we will see some BOC storms for NGOM and WFL. Not majors but TS or C1's.

i actually agree north carolina will probably be hit by a hurricane this year at least 2 or 3 times im guessing there will be a couple in the gulf probably 1 or 2 and of course storms in the atlantic more often than this past year

Carolina and SE Florida are tied for votes. Interesting to see what will actually happen. Even though like I said before, I hope we don't see any US landfalls. But, with another likely active season, it increases the chances for landfalls. I know everyone on the Gulf Coast is on edge with another season slowly creeping up on us. It goes by so fast! I can't believe it has been nearly 6 months since Katrina!

Yeah,I think the NGOM (SE LA to FL Panhandle) will be spared from storms like Ivan or Katrina. But just a T.S or weak hurricane can be really bad for this area, especially N.O and MS.

You don't know for sure that it won't be impacted. Nobody knows what the future holds. I hope we never see another Katrina in our lifetimes. But, chances are that it will happen again. But, you are right, New Orleans and the MS Gulf Coast cannot even take a tropical storm this hurricane season. Even a tropical storm can break the levees. Bill was only a tropical storm and it severly flooded southern Terrebonne Parish due to a levee break. Lili was not a direct hit here and the levees broke. Rita hit 200 miles away from here, yet once again the southern part of the parish was flooded.

Anyone forgot to vote? Most votes so far are for the Carolinas and SE Florida. Sounds about right so far. Does anyone know when Hurricane Alley next report will come out for the 2006 possible landfalls? They have not updated since January. Usually they update for every month until the start of the actual season.
