my gut feeling is that the area won't get hit by a major hurricane
in our lifetime... she's safly tucked in the armpit of the NE GOM...

Jax,

In all due respect I don't by that ,if the conditions are right and its meant to be it will happen.

West palm area hadn't been hit for a long time , than twice in a month!!

If I was a betting man, I'd most likely not put my money on Tampa/St. Pete either this coming season.

Twice in 3 weeks

Tampa dodged a major disaster with Charley

New Orleans dodged Betsy, Camille, Elena, Andrew, Georges, Lili, and Ivan.

Then came Katrina

they cant dodge them forever sorry to say

Yes, a monster hurricane will affect the Tampa Bay are this season. Surprisingly, only Raymond James stadium is destroyed by the hurricane, with the goofy pirate ship, broadsides blasting, sinks in the surge with all hands lost. Go Saints!...MGC

The odds of a severe disaster from a hurricane are very low...but not impossible...so I prepare and have everything ready in advance but I'm not really as concerned as I would be if I lived in a more exposed area that stuck out like the Outer Banks of Carolinas, an area more
vulnerable due to geography.
