I'm just going to post this in every single La Nina thread:

Neutral years, on average, have the same amount of activity as la nina years...with a slight difference in...I believe it is hurricane amounts (1 more in neutral years) but I do not remember exactly.

Not to be rude to anyone because I understand the rush of a storm. I used to be that way too. Katrina changed everything for me. And I was on the weaker side of the storm. But, not the case only 60 miles to my Southwest which is the city of New Orleans. I have lots of family in New Orleans as well as the MS coast. To hear of people drowning and losing everything they own tore me up. I suffered from depression for months afterward. And things are barely getting back to normal. For some, nothing will ever be normal again. Could you imagine being over 70 years old and having to start all over again? Because that is what some seniors are having to face. And losing a loved one is too much for anyone to deal with. As well as many who could not take their pets. Pets are like some people's children. And many perished in the storm as well.

Okay, now that I got that out, I was wondering do La Nina years tend to be more gulf coast landfalls or east coast landfalls? I know the Bermuda high makes all the difference. Lots of us Gulf Coasters are nervous because another season is less than 4 months away.

good question! (and by the way, your dog is darling,i love yorkies ) I think due to the tradewinds ,for one, the east co. seems to be at higher risk this season. I dont blame you for being nervous, my heart goes out to all of you up there., and i am saying my prayers that 06 leaves you untouched.

Thanks. But, the dog under my user name is not mine. It got it off the Storm2k gallery. I do have a yorkie puppy though. She makes 6 weeks old on Wednesday and is still at the breeders home. We are bringing her home sometime between Valentines Day and Mardi Gras. Her name is Chloe.
