Winter is OFFICALLY over

I have declared "Winter is over!" offically here in Arizona, I mean really, winter didn't even START here, it's been Spring for the past 3 months. Phoenix is now set to break the ALL time record number of dry days without rain, "101" days is this coming Friday.....well it rain before then? "NOT!" I know some of you will say, "It's not over yet, we still have 2 months!" sorry.........I honest to God believe we are NOT going to see ANY moisture AT ALL until sometime this coming summer IF at ALL PERIOD!!

Sorry for my rants but not to have measurable snow (to me measurable snow is MORE than 3") and we have only had 2.8" this entire so called winter, it's VERY depressing to say the least, I'd give ANYTHING and I do mean ANYTHING to see RAIN, SNOW, HAIL.......heck, even a TORNADO would be nice at this point in time.

Oh well.........at least homeowners fire insurance is paid for the year, can't WAIT to see the forests gone.

I know there is nothing I can do about the weather but dam, this is INSANE!!

It looked on the radar loops like Flagstaff was getting a lot of snow today- you guys didn't see much where you are?

He's located close to the border of NM towards the center of the state.

Yeah, Flagstaff got SLAMMED.......a WHOPPING 2" and we didn't see a FLAKE, well except for my neighbors that is :lol:

Seriously, we had 7" of snow........7" BETWEEN the flakes, I guess you'd call that a "Trace?" Let's see, I'm now 102" behind in snowpack and NOTHING is on the horizon.......by Monday temps are supposed to be in UPPER 60's to POSSIBLY LOW 70's, now THAT'S WINTER weather :cry:

I know where your coming from. Here in Greenville,NC we normally will have had around 3-6 inches of snow by now, but all I have seen is 2 WHOLE SNOWFLAKES. I am looking forward to February,though.

La Nina is expected to get stronger so it seems the Southwest will remain under this dry pattern with storms remaining well to the north. :cry:

KEWL BEANS......I can COUNT on being evacuated by April of this year. Wildfire season in underway ALREADY, normally doesn't start until June/July.....not bad huh? 5 months ahead of schedule and there are NO CREWS available yet, not until 1 March.....

The rest of us may be lamenting the fact that we aren't having our "normal" winter cold and snow. The Southwest has been under the influence of a severe drought for YEARS. I know it is bad in TX and OK. It was bad for my area two years ago but it was only temporary. Where Dennis lives they "live" off of the snow pack so to say - kind of like the valleys in the Colorado Rockies. The snow pack is practically their water for the year. Sure, there's monsoons but that's nothing compared to the water the snowpack provides.

Many years ago when I declared winter over we got a foot of snow the next week. So I will hold my tongue :lol:
