Had a thunderstorm here in north Austin around 6 a.m., otherwise light but steady rains. So far we have received about a half inch of welcomed rain. Hope you all get some, too!

It's been raining steadily here in central Montgomery County for the last few hours. We also got a good rain for about an hour last night. Very nice.

I just checked my rain gauge and we 1 3/4". We might get a pop up shower or two the remainder of the day but this looks to be the extent of it.

We ended up with close to 2.75 inches of rain in Texarkana. Some parts of NE Texas got a little over 3 inches.

Looking at today's visible shots and radar, looks like a plume of moisture is streaming in south of Galveston and Freeport. Looks like a heavy rain event is setting up :D :D :D :D

Yep, it looks like everything is a go for some decent rainfall totals across Southeast, Texas starting as early as this evening hopefully and lasting into tomorrow afternoon. I would love for a thunderstorm to sit over my house for an hour and drop 2 to 3 inches of rain. That would definately fill up the creek where I do my crappie fishing about a mile from my house. Bring it!!

Southeast, Texas that is. :D

I've heard them be called everything under the sun so I just keep it simple and call them crappie. lol Here is a mess of 'em I caught in mid February last year with my family. I had to filet 83 of them that day!

That morning I started off with two dozen minnows which didn't last long at all. I didn't want to run up to the bait shop so I put on a little feather jig about a foot and half underneath a popping cork. The hit this feather jig harder and quicker than the minnows! Yes, most were caught on jigs.

Very cool! I may need to try that this weekend. Am thinking about taking my boys out fishing on Sunday.

Thanks and I bet y'all had quite a fish fry!
