I don't quite understand that, since I'm not a pacifist and I answered "disagree" to the pacifism question.

Preface: This is not intended to offend, only to inquire.

How do Christians who follow the teachings of a vehement pacifist justify not being pacifists themselves?

Specifically which teachings of Christ in particular? If you're referring to anger for ie...the Lord got angry with the vendors in a temple and 'drove' them out.

I won't presume to speak for Christians in general (I'm not at all sure whether I qualify for that label or not) but it seems to me that the record of Jesus' actual words is very sparse, and deals almost entirely with personal conduct, not governmental conduct. For instance, his admonition to "turn the other cheek" read in context clearly deals with personal insults (when insulted, don't retaliate - be ready to accept yet another insult) not the broader issues of violence between nations or even judicial violence.

Most of Christian doctrine on war comes not from the Gospels, but from writings of Paul, and also the old testament.

Christ faced many insults and bumps along his road, at some point you tend to ignore them because they're will be more coming. Whenever I get yelled at at work, I look at the person and basically say indirectly "and your telling and yelling at me why?" The yelling won't scare me, because I have been yelled at many times.
