I think Hurricane Irene was the only bonafide Cape Verde storm of 2005.

of course its going to be a stronger cape verde season 2005 is a weak a cape verde season as you'll see

notice in the GOM that all the lines converge over the yucatan channel.through that channel flows the loop current a hot caldera of very deep warm water.what did that hot caldera of deep hot water do just take a look at Katrina&Rita

2003 looks almost pathetic next to 2004 and 2005. Hard to believe that 2003 actually felt above normal (activity wise) at the time...

Interesting no hits (landfalls) North of Florida on the East Coast. All those storms, and they were either driven out to sea or into the poor Gulf (other than Isabel and Juan of course) :eek:

All I can say is, if we get a Cat 4 or 5 on the same or similar path as Wilma, you can kiss fort lauderdale/broward goodbye forever. If Wilma was only a 2 over the east coast of fla.....man....we'd be screwed. I'm living in a hotel still cause of the mean lady. Going to be 6-9 months more before our building is repaired. 8 story hi-rise, 8 Mill damage......and the roof came off during the "weak" side of the storm. Before we got whacked by the back end. Looking at all the blue roofs around Broward, from a cat 2, I just don't see how the hell we will hold up through a truly major cane hit here. I'll boldly say it will be a catstrophe on the monetary scale of Katrina......but hopefully not the same toll in lives. And of course as we all know....its not if.....its when.

Personal record for me, three eye calm experiences in 13 months (Wilma, Jeanne, Frances). 2 eye calm experiences the previous 31 years.

Katrina was my first eye-calm experience. It was interesting how the first part was just compared to 1/4 of what the second part brought.
