Weather Station Question

#1 Postby HURAKAN » Mon Jan 16, 2006 12:34 am

I want to buy a new weather station but I want one that is really reliable. A weather station that measures accurately wind, rain, temperature, and more. I bought a few years ago a weather station from Lacrosse and I have nothing good to say about it. Wind measurements are never correct, most of the time there is no signal even if I put the receiver next to the sender. It's horrible to say the least. A need a weather stations that is the most accurate as possible and affordable. I'm willing to go up to $500 for a good one. I need to be really ready for the 2006 hurricane season. I wasn't able to measure any wind speed during Katrina nor Wilma. I need that not to happen again!

I need your help to buy a weather station that is worth the money.

Thanks in advance,

Sandy Delgado

The Davis systems especially the Vantage Pro seem to be pretty good and are relatively reasonable-of course you could go for a much more expensive system. My Davis wind sensor has been up and running for some 10 years now (of course it's hard wired) and my only problem with it has nothing to do with it but everything to do with my trees which are much higher now.

Vantage Pros are more than reasonable there, they cost twice as much here for the same thing!
