Boob calls for removal of bust

Pamela Anderson takes on Colonel Sanders
TV star leads campaign to remove a bust of 'cruel' KFC founder from Kentucky state capitol.

NEW YORK (CNN) - Television star Pamela Anderson is leading a campaign to have the bust of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Harland Sanders removed from the Kentucky state capitol.

In a letter to Gov. Ernie Fletcher, the former Baywatch star says suppliers for the fast food chain, now called KFC, engage in cruel and unusual treatment of chickens, including tearing the heads off of live birds, spitting tobacco into their eyes and spray-painting their faces.

Anderson wrote the letter with the help of People for the Ethical Treatment of animals. In a statement issued by PETA, Anderson said, "The bust of Colonel Sanders stands as a monument to cruelty and has no place in the Kentucky state capitol."

Brett Halle, communications director for the governor, told CNN, "We understand that people have a passion for their causes, but Harland Sanders is a beloved man, and as far as this state is concerned, he exemplifies the best of Kentucky. The governor has no intention of moving his statue. If we were going to move it, it would be to a more prominent position where more people could see it."

A spokeswoman for KFC told CNN that the letter is "just another misguided publicity stunt by PETA in their attempt to create a vegan society."

I'll tell you what. If she removes hers, I am pretty confident he will do the same.

On CNN either Kyra Phillips or Ali Valchi (sp?) made a good comment on this today:

"It's funny that Pamela Anderson would call for someone's bust to be removed".

I hope I got the quote right, I thought it was pretty funny.

Just another example of why we should not listen to Hollywood morons and their "I am a star, therefor I am an authority" mentality.....MGC

I hate PETA with a passion. Shock tactics and very little else.

There are a ton of other groups that do more to help animals than PETA. Like the USHS. (United States Human Society)

Plus, isn't there something called the Animal Welfare Act?

Wasn't there a PETA scandal about them euthanizing animals, that they said they'd find homes for? I think I saw something in the news to that effect around Christmas.

PETA and Pamela have way too much time on their hands these days. Have they stopped freeing lobsters and need something else to do?

PETA is a home grown terrorist group...dont listen to them...oh, and their non publicized title thingy is "Better Dead Than Fed" and they take dogs from shelters claiming to be finding them a new home, then turn around and kill the majority...they dont think anyone should have pets... :grrr: :grrr: :grr:
EDIT: Misspelled fed...lol
