I think it was... he's the #2 man in Al-Qaeda, and for the last year, has been the MAIN guy we've seen on TV. OBL has not been seen since October 29, 2004, a full 15 1/2 months ago.

I get a bad feeling we'll probably find out in a few days that they never found his body, and there'll be no way of confirming whether he survived or not. Didn't Al-Zawahiri just release a tape in the past week?

The collateral deaths are a tragedy. Among the 17 killed in the airstrike were women and children who probably were not Al Qaeda militants, although they may have been the families of the terrorists. It's a well-known tactic of these types of groups - they hide in densely populated residential areas and innocents as human shields while baiting an airstrike. Since it would be unthinkable to let a target like Al-Zawahiri go...terrorist leaders surround themselves with innocent people who will be killed in the airstrike as well, so that they can use their deaths as a propaganda advantage. It's sickening. These people claim to be fighting for God, while they sacrifice their own people in the process.

Don't worry, they missed him again. I can't believe how incompetent our leadership is.

IMO, these "non-political" threads  have gone on long enough. Too much gray area and I'm not gonna let it keep going. Any other mods disagree...unlock it and knock yourselves out.
