MOTQ

#1 Postby CajunMama » Thu Jan 05, 2006 6:02 pm

With all the activity and upheavel this past hurricane season our MOTM was inadvertently forgotten. The admins and mods put their heads together and we've decided to combine August, September, October and November into one MOTQ (Member of the Quarter)! We'll get back on track with the December MOTM soon.

So...announcing our first (and hopefully only) MOTQ...drumroll please :band:

While I agree it was an active season, I think it was WAY overhyped. I mean, given all the satalites we have access to now, we can spot a tropical storm just about anywhere. back in the 1930s they didnt have that. Also, New Orleans was WAY overdue for a major hurricane. Yes it was an amazing hurricane season, but to me it was a little overhyped.

I don't want this thread to get hijacked but some of these people who went through these three hurricanes have gone thru hell and back. That's why they were chosen MOTQ.

Im not so sure what MOTQ means, but I agree, the hurricanes were the worst event of the year and yeah, I am sure it was hectic.

Wave, we normally (but what has been normal since last august) have a member of the month who is nominated by his/her peers here and voted on by his/her peers. With this past season it was put aside and to make up for the 4 months we did not have a MOTM (member of the month) the admins and moderators decided to award a MOTQ (member of the quarter) for the 4 months we missed. Keep a lookout for a MOTM thread which should be coming shortly and you can nominate and vote also.
