Looking very good on imagery now, with deep convection over the center and outstanding outflow!

Who ever that made the SS scale was very smart in knew that a cat5 should be something out of this world in strength.

A cat3 or above is to be respected. I'm not saying that a cat1 should not be respected just that a cat3 or above can do alot more damage like leveling a area. Thats why they call is a Major hurricane. This is the SS scale.

About this scale is cat1 to cat2 is a tropical storm fellowed by a cat3 as a cyclone/severe cyclone(Hurricane for Atlantic)...I personally see all cyclones as the same Animal more or less...This means that the cat4s in 5s are less respectable. But they should be respected still...

Just my option.

The cyclone appears to be forming a eye...In which means it is around 65 to 70 mph...We will see how strong it can get.

How is it offensive? Just asking quastions about it thats all. I just think a cat5 should be a storm that is rare.. But your scale has its good points.

Matt, the Australian scale was created for the same reason as the SS scale. To classify the strength of the storms, not how much respect they deserve.

So an Australian Category 5 is not the same as a SS Category 5.

Big freakin' deal! Regardless of strength, a cyclone is something that needs to be taken seriously.

IT IS NOT A CONTEST TO SEE WHOSE SCALE IS BETTER!
