Poor puppy....
Dave insisted on having our old Pit-mix cremated when he had to be put down due to acute pancreatitis at almost 14. After dilly-dallying around about where to spread the ashes, I finally told Dave that when I die, just put Travis' ashes in the box with me. Yeah, we critter lovers can get a little whacked, I guess!

I am so sorry for you! We had a dog sneak out and get hit when I was 16 and I still get upset thinking about it! This hasn't been a good week for our pets, but we will get through it. How is Beauty taking it? My Snitch, the remaining cat is wandering the house crying, and checking all the hidey holes looking for Smudge.

Awww, that is sad, weathermom. Yes Beauty has been down like the rest of us.
BTW, we got Bandit's ashes back. He's on the fireplace mantle. I guess that's helping some of us to feel a little better, but that's not really my thing. Like you said in the other thread, give them a hug while they're still with us, show them the love, appreciate them, and have no regrets when they're gone. And yes, that DOES go for our spouses too!

You've made me feel not quite so whacked: We kept Travis' ashes on the fireplace mantel for about a year ourselves!
