Go hug your pets, RIGHT NOW!

#1 Postby weathermom » Fri Jan 06, 2006 8:08 pm

Don't wait another second, because it could be too late. Tuesday morning my two cats were playing and suddenly one of them just sat down. Then when he tried to get up he had lost control of his legs. Things got worse from there and we rushed him to the vet, where he passed away within about an hour of the first incident. He was only 4 years old. We are heartbroken. Please don't take them for granted, only God knows how long they will be here with you.

So sorry to hear that. Probably it was caused by a massive stroke or something.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty, Weathermom. You're right. Our companions are special and should be appreciated. I might give my wife a hug too.

What a guy!

Seriously, we all take for granted all of our loved ones, be it man or beast. I get upset at myself when I scold one of my pets for being bad.

I am soo sorry for your loss! I felt like I could never give my yorkie Lacey enough hugs. I miss her so much and once I take my Chloe (new yorkie baby home), I will never take her for granted. I am little worried because she is going to be so teeny. My new yorkie puppy won't be more than 3 and half pounds full grown.

I've already done the evening "dinner dance" with Alex.
I show up with Alpo, sing some silly song that I made up,
something about "Humans can open cans cuz they have thumbs..."
and I act like I am going to run away from her
with the food...she wags her tail and chases me, and, then,
I give in and put her food in the bowl, pat her, and tell her
what a good girl she is.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet friend,
weathermom! We can give them so much love when they're
with us, and, it hurts so bad when they're gone.

Loren - oh I'm so sorry for your loss. What a shock! For what it's worth, it sounds as if your beloved cat didn't suffer long. And from the pet's point of view, that is the outcome you want. But the owner is left stunned, deeply saddened.

I will go hug Hope, right now!

This reminds me of my neighbor's first Golden. The sweetest, most gentle dog I've ever met. He honestly could have been a therapy dog, he allowed kids at recess to pet him, at least 20 at a time. Extremely patient. We live near a school. Anyway, the owner would walk him when home from business trips, you never saw the two separate, on walks. One day I see the owner walking alone and I smiled. Asked quietly where his companion was, instant tears. Steve, this big guy had tears in his eyes. Could barely talk. Finally he explained that he went away on a business trip, their dog suddenly got very sick, his wife and a neighbor had to carry this dog to the car, by the time the Vet examined him, he was dying. At age 10. There was nothing they could do. There wasn't even time for the owner to fly home and say a final goodbye. It was a very rare heart ailment Goldens can get. Murphy was gone, that fast. And Murphy is the very reason I got a Golden!

They have another Golden but he's nothing like Murphy was. Steve sighs and says to me - I wish he was! And I say - I wish Hope was like Murphy! Murphy was a one of kind dog, thru and thru.

It's so hard when they go fast like this and you didn't see it coming.

Feel for you Loren!

Hugs.....:-(

So sorry to hear about your kitty weathermom. I understand how you feel. We had something similar happen to our 1 year old kitty last year, he passed on the way to the vet, something happened to him in the morning and by afternoon it was over. I was thinking he drank a puddle from someones car with anti-freeze in it? We still don't know. :( I am scratching my dogs head as I type.
