Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but the Hershey Man will know!
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read ...
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate
(more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1755 ....
If you haven't, add 1754.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2005) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

It's a relatively straightforward exercise in algebra
The entire thing can be represented by the expression:
(2x+5)50 + 1755 -y
where x = the number you originally picked
and y = the year you were born
this simplifies to 100x + 250 +1755 - y
regrouping and combining,
100x + 2005 -y
So the roundabout way of doing the math was a way of disguising the factor 2005, which when you subtract your birth year, it calculates your age.
The 100x is a way of disguising your original number. your original number has to be between 1 and 9 so that in the end, it's in the 100's place in the final number. when you subtract the the year you were born, the final number is "x" hundred larger than your age.
This would work in any year. In 2006 use 1756 instead of 1755, and so on.
Also, I don't think that this will work if you're over 100 years old.
The part about 1755 or 1754 was to correct for whether your birthday already happened.

haha didn't read the part about 2005 only until after the fact. I was wondering why my result was completely wrong. I can tell you for a fact that -167 is not accurate...because I do not eat chocolate -1 times per week and I am also not -67. lol.
