Nasa World Wind software? It is freaking better than google maps'

type in world wind 1.3 and happy dowloading. It even has the tectonic plates and everything..

Well of course, since it has asked me to download and install 1,000 things in order to run it and then after I installed DirectX it still asks me to install it. :x

Very cool!

Two things which jump out at me as special right away - the NRL animated weather sattelite images and the "Rapid Fire MODIS" interface.


Thanks for the tip - I hadn't heard of this program.

I've got version 1.2 of this installed but since finding Google Earth haven't used it. It brings up a "Could not connect to server" error too often and I like the ability to put place marks on the Google one. :D
