Reanalysis Project

#1 Postby Jam151 » Thu Dec 15, 2005 4:56 pm

Does anyone know the general time the reanalysis project will be complete. I think they've finished through 1914.

From their site:
Complete re-analysis for 1911-1940 by Spring 2005
Complete re-analysis for 1941-1970 by Spring 2006
Complete re-analysis for 1971-1999 by Spring 2007

While it doesn't look like that is going to happen, they have a presentation for 1915-1930 located at this link http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/hurdat/presentations.html . This will likely be the majority of the changes, with some other minor ones as they finish it up.

Can anyone explain me how they are changing/modifying hurricane seasons a century later?
