KING KONG TO CHALLENGE ALL-TIME BOXOFFICE CHAMP

'APE WITH A HEART MAKES GROWN MEN CRY'

$1,845,034,000 worldwide and $600,788,188 are the all-time boxoffice records for a single movie, TITANIC, first released on December 19, 1997.

Now roars along another December blockbuster, KING KONG, a film many top Hollywood executives predict will break the record!

The movie opens wide as Victoria Lake next Wednesday, but recent screenings by UNIVERSAL have left the audience cheering and sobbing.

"Grown men around me were crying," says one Hollywood insider.

"Yes, I think this will do TITANIC numbers. It is going to be a huge movie."

Complaints the Peter Jackson movie starts slow and is too long [more than 3 hours] will fill critics' columns.

I will go and see it as I like these kinds of movies. Will all of you see this movie?

The Kong vs Godzilla fights were different movies. In the original Kong, and this remake, he fights dinosaurs.

I appreciate what Jackson has done, and I admire his creativity, vision and passion. However, I am betting that this film will be a heartbreaker and I am just too softhearted. In the real world, humans cause so much misery for animals. I just can't sit through a long show that is basically about a bunch of people tormenting an animal, and then ultimately killing it. :(

And for you arachnaphobics, ol' Petey has made sure to put in a scene cut from the original. Called the "spider pit" scene - well, with the graphics they now have...

Looks like a lot of other big bug scenes, too. Sleep tight, kiddies!

Peter Jackson flicks rank down there with Quentin Tarantion films in my book.

I slept through an hour of LOTR in the theater. Never saw the other two LOTR's. Heavenly Creatures was WAY too bizarre and I still cringe thinking about the murder scene. Melanie Lynskey was wicked and Kate Winslet was just plain...weird.

I don't think I can bring myself to watch Peter Jackson movies again. Don't care if they're filmed in NZ and star an overwhelming number of blonde Kiwis. Not for me.

Nope, not going to pay the money to sit in a theater for it. I don't think it will live up to the hype, but that's just my opinion. :)

I can't resist...from {i]The Rocky Horror Picture Show[/i]...

Whatever happened...to Fay Wray?
That delicate...satin-draped fra-a-ame?
As it clung to her thigh
I started to cry-y-y,
'Cause I wanted to be dressed
Just the same...

(with apologies to Tim Curry)

Additionally I just raced home from watching it and this film was superb. Just a beautiful piece of art really.

Jackson poured his soul into this film, for good reason, it got him interested in movies.

For everyone who doesn't like this film without seeing it, thats okay I forgive you.
