Is there an official amount or an estimate or an official amount to date? and if so do you know what it is?

Just kidding. There is likely a current estimated amount of some kind, but I don't know what it is.

The NHC's postcap of the season estimates 80 billion.

Damage teams are saying that the damages in Mississippi alone could top over 100 billion.

the 80 billion is a preliminary NHC estimate and is NOT the final number. The same is true for Wilma's 14.4 billion. Not everyone has had their insurance claims totaled yet; thus, the doubling factor is off

and that is not also counting the displaced evacuees who live elsewhere which is like that most will not return beacuse they know its likey to happen again and next time maybe the real worst case scenarion.so with that they had enough and they don't want to be a apart of it.if Katrina went slightly west of NO with her 30+ ft storm surge those folks would of been dead

1. Katrina $80,000,000,000
2. Andrew 26,500,000,000
3. Ivan $15,000,000,000
4. Wilma $14,400,000,000
5. Charley $14,000,000,000
6. Rita $9,400,000,000
7. Frances 9,000,000,000
8. Hugo $7,000,000,000
9. Jeanne $6,900,000,000
10. Floyd $4,500,000,000

Allison as actully 10th with $5 billion but I just had hurricanes. Allison in my opinion owns her own list (and I mean OWNS)

Is it just me or was Hugo second only about a year and a half ago?

Dennis is at 3-5 billion
