Driest May ever probable in south Louisiana...

#1 Postby PTrackerLA » Sat May 24, 2003 6:56 pm

We've only received a trace of rain for the month in Lafayette. What looked like it could be a decent rain event earlier this week is turning out to be a 30% chance of rain sunday night as the front passes through. Just about the same scenario as the last frontal passage and we ended up with a few drops! After that we have a dry forecast until at least next weekend so it looks like we have a good chance of having the driest May on record. Welcome to the drought of 2003 for the northwestern gulf coast.

I've always disliked dry cold fronts, especially after a day spell. It was nice to see some rain with this last front, which is still actually in the area. It seem like places around me got more than I did.

I know PTrackerLA...it's bad. With the front, only the lakes area have a chance of rain, and that's only 20% - nothing for us.
