many times it turns out to be the opposite of what you predict. For example: Your Cat 5 Isaac could be a weak TS out to sea. Nadine could be a Cat 5 monster tearing into Tampa.

Alberto, Beryl and Chris will all be weak tropical storms and the only named systems of 2006.

This should be interesting. Next summer, we'll look back at this thread and laugh at the way-off predictions and  at the dead-on ones. Anyway, here goes... Florence and Leslie. It's been all about the ladies this season, and I wouldn't be surprised if that trend continues.

It's rather unlikely that more than 1-2 storms will develop before August 1st, and typically, they'll be weaker tropical storms. Don't count on 2005 repeating every year, it's an anomoly. That said, Chris does sound particularly threatening, perhaps for Texas in early to mid August. Florence sounds like a bad east coast hurricane. I don't see any other big ones that threaten land in that list.

I agree about Florence; that's why I picked her. Especially because F-named storms have had a history of nailing us here in NC.

If I were an organized and creative tech person, I'd figure out how to make this one make bells and whistles ring July 27th (in all due respect, and hoping you are right!) :D

Gordon's got a score to settle. That should be fun in late August/early September. Issac sounds ominous, and Oscar could be kind of bad.
Kirk could be a weak hurricane that hits a big city, it doesn't quite sound normal, but it doesn't sound bad either.
