It was insane at Walmart. I will be surprised if no one gets hurt and sues them this morning. I am black and blue. I was hit in the back by so many buggies that my kidneys ache. The backs of my heels are scraped by the wheels of the buggies riding up the backs of my legs. I got you Garth but I don't know if it was worth it. All kidding aside, the manager is an idiot. I don't understand why they didn't have certain items under a tent outside with crowd control to allow so many inside at once. :grr:

I'm back! Got some pots and pans for my son from Penneys and then hopped on over to Linens 'n Things and got a $250 prelit/remote control Christmas tree for $99! I'm a happy camper!

Yea I got everything I was looking for at Best Buy. I will give them credit for having an orderly line control. Pleny of workers moving up and down the line before it opened. One had OJ, two were pushing a coffee cart for those that were waiting at no charge. A few were answering questions and advising which item were sold out so time was not wasted. We were running late and got there at 4:40am. Got into the store about 5:45am, split up and scored all the items. Hit the mall at 7 for a Philly bacon cheesesteak sub with fries, cheese and bacon. Got some good deals there and was home by 10. Two more gifts to buy and I am done.

Wow Beer! The BestBuy here had people camping out starting at 3PM Thursday afternoon. This morning by 6 the line was wrapped all the way around the outside of the store.

I made it back with the stuff on my list and then some. We still have New Orleans people in the living in this area, and some who came from New Orleans. I ran into several people today who had drove from NO at 2 or 3 in the morning. So this was the most crowded I have ever seen it. Even with the added crowds, I found that this year people were more polite to each other than any other year.

No I didn't go to that frenzy.

Look below an example of how people go crazy in this day.

I made it home alive! It was crazy at first. But, we had so many workers working that everything was okay. It kept coming in spurts. I did not have anybody rude to me. Everyone seemed to be patient. With the exception of a few people griping about the long line. What do they expect? I am surprized I am even still awake. But, when I got home around 5:30 p.m., my mom wanted to go out to eat for supper. So, I went with her. Took a shower, fixing to take some Nyquil and head to bed. I am glad I don't have to be at work until 1 tomorrow and am off Sunday. I have been sick with a terrible cold. It just added to my misery today. I coughed so much today that I thought I was going to die. Ugh, and I still got to blow dry my hair. That is the biggest pain about having long hair.

Well he chose not to wake me. But I do know why now too!! We got an early Christmas present from him and his fiance. They went to Best Buy and got the two things they wanted on sale-a digital camcorder for themselves and a 1000 watt surround sound system for us!!! I have wanted one for a long time and they couldn't wait till present opening time so we had an early present today.

Then the wife, I and my son went out again before the early bird sales were over and got several more things, so it was hightly successful and not as bad as I figured it would be. We did have a nasty confrontation with a clerk from the store we were shopping at over my handicap placard for the car. Long story short she assumed that since I wasn't in a wheel chair or some such that I had a fraudulent hanger(as opposed to a licence plate)and made a smart ass remark saying "I hope you enjoy your handicap sticker". I was outraged and made it very clear and very public right in front of the store. That included a threat that I was coming back in the store and finding her and her supervisor and she would lose her job. Apparently that got her attention because she came back out and apololgized which I accepted. Turns out her daughter has MD and has trouble finding handicapped spots to park in. I told her I understand since I run into that a lot. Generally if I can find a place close enought I don't even use the placard, but since my wreck almost 2 years ago I can no longer walk long distances(we were at one of the biggest malls in Houston)without being in major pain nor can I climb stairs normally. Anyway, besides that it was a surprisngly ok(I won't say pleasant) experience.

I heard about it, but didn't see nothing. People just get too out of control, I stayed at home. I am not rich, and I would rather wait and pay normal prices then wait in long lines and deal with rude people, pushing ya out of the way. Here is the link to that story. It was a security gaurd and a customer. Someone trying to butt the line and get the last lap top. There is a video there too, haven't watched yet, going to so right now.

OMG. I just watched the video. It looked like hearding cattle getting into that place, and the fight was crazy, flailing around knocking people over. Gessshhh, so glad I didn't go to Walmart yesterday. I bet I know someone who did, haven't talk to her yet though. She always goes out on black Friday. Also my sister-inlaw was suppost to go get one of those lap tops at Walmart.

I hit Best Buy on the way home from my Mom's last night. Didn't find it crowded at all. Bought me a 27inch LCD HDTV for my bedroom. Hooked it up last night, pretty good picture.....MGC

In that picture i see the generosity and kindness of the lady in the black top helping the fallen woman over the greediness of the others and the security guard just standing there.

Did you see the video of the shoppers where the lady is on the ground trying to put her wig back on? I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of bed. The stores should give out numbers to the shoppers in line to avoid these mad rushes. I would never get out of bed to get in line at 4am just to save a few bucks on something I don't need.....MGC

Look at that lady with the big red sweatshirt. She looks like she is running a race and does not even care about the little old lady on the ground. Look at the grin on her face. It looks like she is fixing to run the triathelon.

I didn't get up in the middle of the night to stand in those ridiculous lines but I did go a wee bit later in the morning. I found some good deals and avoided being trampled. Goodness....that's just insane!

I stopped by Walmart close to 11am and was glad to hear I missed some major chaos early in the morning when the cops had to use pepper spray on customers in the Electronics department. Unbelievable. Then I woke up early this morning to hear Fox & Friends talking about the folks getting trampled in one Walmart and the cops pepper spraying the crowd at Walmart in Beaumont, Texas and many people had to be treated in the parking lot by EMS. Then it was on MSNBC. Then a headline on Drudge. Lovely...gotta love that positive coverage.

It's merchandise people...get a grip.
