Perish the thought! I'll stick with the internet and catalogs.

I don't know. I have before and it's a madhouse and yet, something kind of exciting about it too. Like bungee jumping or something - it's just scary!

Anyway, here's a list of rumored Black Friday deals at some stores. This place has been accurate in past years, but I've never seen it up so early, but I don't think I've looked this early either.

http://www.dealcatcher.com/forums/forumid_24/tt.htm

A lot of the places are closed here, so if I were to go, would be odd and the places open will be more crammed than usual. Target won't be opened by then - major damage from Rita and they were hoping to be able to open by Thanksgiving but it's been pushed back to now they're hoping by mid-December. My sister tried to order something on CircuitCity.com and then do the "pick up at the store" and it wouldn't let her. She drove by there and there was a pile of debris in front of the store and the store was gutted out, workers going in and out. No word on when they will open again but it doesn't look like soon.

I think you can get Black Friday deals online...that may be the way to go if you find something you want. Standing in line at 4am for a store that opens at 5am or 6am just isn't my cup of tea. And for the stores that are open, this year will be even more crowded!

I won't go to the store again until the second week in January. I went this past Sunday and it was awful. I will do one shopping in the middle of the night when the crowds are gone.

I think Debi will hit Wally World after hours (we have a 24-hour superstore here). She's already put a pre-lit tree, 7-footer in layaway (hates fumbling around with lights!), and whatever shopping we can do will be done quickly and with the least amount of fuss or long lines.

I dunno...my sister and I usually go, it's kind of a family tradition, but then again this year was nothing even close to normal. I don't think I'm going, the few stores that are open will be jammed. Heck they already are and it's not even the holiday. I passed by the store Sat morn and there wasn't a parking space to be found. I'm either going later or I'm going to do my shopping online.

I will not be getting out in the crowds tomorrow. My daughter is the only one that likes to be a glutton for punishment shopping on the day after Thanksgiving.

I will be sleeping while people kill each other for bargains they don't really need. :P

I was *almost* tempted to go when I looked at some of the deals in the paper this afternoon, then my brain and my guy instinct kicked in.

Well, other than there being virtually no use of the "C" word in the stores or their ads, "Black Friday" does have a certain something. But I am now too insulted that while all of these companies will make billions in sales of CHRISTMAS gifts, they treat the name of this religious holiday as somehow wrong?!

After looking at all of the ads today, I cannot in good consicence - or FAITH - spend money at places that treat MY religion as offensive. I held judgement until after Thanksgiving, as with Halloween, Thanksgiving AND Christmas, you can make the case for all of the "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" stuff. Now, when stores live and die by CHRISTMAS sales, it is wrong to censor the very name of the holiday that is generating all of this activity! I am going to give only cash, actual Christmas cards, and when I interact with people, they will get a hearty "Merry Christmas". I do not care if they are OFFENDED.

Hello Folks. It is now 5:26 a.m. Leaving for work in a few minutes. Got to be there for 6 a.m. I live only a normal 15-minute drive from work (9 miles) But, figure I better leave 30 minutes ahead of time until Christmas is over with. Because the traffic has been so bad lately that it has been taking me almost 30-minutes to get there now. Traffic has been bumper to bumper lately. I may be too tired to post anything when I get home. I don't get off until 5 p.m.
