Channels you can do without

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Wed Nov 23, 2005 1:18 pm

What are some cable channels you can do without? Yes, that includes local affiliates as well.

Here's my list:

Playboy TV
Spice Channels
Pay-Per-View
Shopping Channels
Showtime
The Movie Channel
Channels that have a test pattern 24/7 (Although I record them on the last 5 minutes of any recordable tape)
C-SPAN Channels
Style
Leased Access
Adult Swim segment of Cartoon Network (They should make Adult Swim a seperate channel)
WE: Womens Entertainment

All of those apply to me, but add one more: HGTV. It's just not for me.

I agree. They should make it its own channel and run Aqua Teen more often.

I'd agree with your list except for C-SPAN. I'm an absolute C-SPAN junkie.

:uarrow: Agree to all, add one more for me: MTV, never watch it, and it just looks gay... I always watch CMT though... I hate all that rap crap... oh, one country song had just a bit of violence in it, Earl Had To Die, for those of you that listen to country... and some group promoting no violence in songs went after them, yet they dont go after all these rap songs with nothing but Drugs and Violence in them...WTFreak??? :x :x :x :x :grr: :grr:

In Ontario...we have a bunch of digital channels ..its just too many that it would be impossible to actually see each one and actually analyze each one in great depth...but come on...

1) MenTv ..24 hr Channel dedicated to men's interests

2) SCREAM.. 24 hr Channel dedicated to Horror flicks

3) DRIVEIN..24hr channel dedicated to Drive In classics

4) MOVIO... 24 hr channel for short films

5) SILVER.. 24 hr channel for silver screen classics

6) BOOK/... 24 hr channel for analyzing books

7) MYSTERY..24 hour mystery channel

8) LONESTAR.. 24 hr channel for western type films

9) ONE... Body, Mind, Spirit Channel...( i have no clue either)

10) FINE LIVING... dunno the difference between this and HGTV.

11) ECO...Ecology chanel..a wannabee Discovery Channel.

12) MILIT... a 24 hr military channel

13) OLEG..Ontario Legistature channel ( like who actually watches this)

14) LEAFS tv... a 24 hour channel dedicated to the Toronto Maple Leafs... which have the rights only to like 10 games of the entire season. (I mean I love hockey..but not enought to have a whole channel just for that)

15) RAPTOR TV... 24 hr channel for Toronto Raptors (yes beleive it or not)

I could go on and on... the amazing number of pointless channels.

I have too many channels to even bother to explore what I have. Most I could live without.
