The 2005 season could be summarized as the year in which almost all records were broken and a new one could be on the way. We know having a storm in every month is very difficult and that's from where my idea comes. When was the last time that at least one storm developed in every month? What do you mean every month? Every month of the season? June-November? I'm sure that's happened at least a couple of times in the past few decades. If you mean a tropical cyclone in every month January - December, now THAT would be an impressive sight.

Indeed Gamma and Delta have formed. So question: is that a record (at least two storms each month of the season)?

I have done a little research and there is no season in Atlantic history that has started with two or more storms (40 mph or more) in June and has ended with 2 or more storms (40 mph or more) in November.

Please, any historian in the forum may want to check on this possible new record.

What I did is that using "Eye of the Storm," I found the seasons that had at least 2 storms in November, and then of those six seasons (1888, 1961, 1980, 1981, 1994, & 2001) tried to find which one had at least 2 storms in June. The result came negative, which says that the 2005 season is the first on record.

Just something curious to know, 1887 had 2 storms in May and 2 in December to open and end the season, of course, in between there was a lot of action.

Note: 2003 had 1 April and 2 Decembers, yet no Novembers and one storm from June through October.
Also, 1901 had 1 June, July, August, September, and October, with an October storm peristing into November.
In addition, 1946 had 1 June, July, August, September, and October, with an October storm persisting into November.
1966 had 1 June, July, August, September, and November, with a September storm persisting into October.
1981 had 1 May, June, August, September, October, and November, with a June storm lasting into July.
