whoa, I dont want to start a "flame war" here, I know that these storms killed people, what I mean is how promising they looked, but then became pathetic. Or, how pathetic they looked on sat. images and radar.

The unnamed storm of 1991 was the perfect storm. It had 100 foot waves. It would do alot of damage if it had hit land. It doe's not disserve to be on that list with the likes of Lee or other system.

Kyle was the wimpiest in 1995... even the NHC wording alludes to that. And Olga, Dennis and Danny were all hurricanes. Danny did some work on the Lousiana coast too.

Not quite. The Unnamed Hurricane of '91 formed from the remnants of The Perfect Storm, which did not have 100ft waves. Try http://www.wikipedia.com .

Chris probably takes the overall award for wimpiest of 2000, but honorable mention goes to TS Helene- which got torn apaer by shear right before landfall. The center of the storm made landfall pretty much on top of our apartment building back when we lived about 100 yards from the Gulf, and I can remember calling my parents saying "Hey, the hotel across the street from us is on CNN Headline News even though nothing much weather-wise is really happening right now."

Don't get me wrong, I'll take a lame storm any day over something more powerful, but Helene was impressively lame in her own special way.
