Hurricane Awards Discussion Thread

#1 Postby fasterdisaster » Fri Nov 18, 2005 5:53 pm

Now that most votes are in, it would be nice to have discussion. So, who does everybody think will win? Krysof, you said I could have a thread this afternoon, but tell me if this bothers you.

For the months, I think either October, August, September, or July will win, with October having the best chance. As for best persistent storm and most confusing storm, I think Ophelia will likely win. It also looks like either Stan or Philippe (leaning towards Stan) will win as the storm with best potential. As for best eye structure, it will likely be either Katrina or Wilma (I may be leaning toward Katrina, though). It is pretty even among storms, however, right now in the favorite hurricane and most unique track categories.

Isabel had an excellent eye structure; however, Isabel is not in any of the vote categories.

I voted for Katrina on her eye because it was very symmetrical, round, and looked very clear and incredible on annular Katrina at her peak intensity.

I voted for Kat for eye because it asked which storm had the best eye structure. A 2 nm wide eye doesn't really have structure.
