Gulf water temps rising

well with all this unusual warm weather we have been having, the water temps in the gulf are going back up, they did drop into the upper 60s around pensacola now they are in the low 70s again, good thing is the tropics have leveled off

yeah well hurricanes need a minimum of 78F to sustain themselves. Some buoys in the eastern and southestern GOM have water temps in the upper 70s to low 80s still. so the warmth is still there.

The next big cold front should be the total end of any GOM development.

The latest models are backing off on a strong cold front sweeping thru Florida next weekend.Maybe 2to 3 degrees cooler that's about it.

I get a little uneasy seeing the forecast of the upper high sitting over the Gulf for the next week or so.
