I wish I had to trudge through 3 feet of snow just to go outside at Christmas...

Me too! But I will always have the memories!

No question I like the real trees, but practically speaking the small artificial one we have makes more sense these days.

Still, when the boys were growing up...until at least their first ten years, we had a real tree.

The year without a Christmas for them was when mommy decided to get rid of reds and greens and go with mauves and corals as decorations.

That only happened once.

I wish they come up with a gigantic fiberglass christmas tree that's pre-lit.

We have one of those three-piece fake ones w. limbs attached. Easy to set up, and looks good. We also have a fiber optic tree that friends gave us in a big green storage bag. Someone asked was was in the bag, and I kicked it. "Eh, the mother-in-law, ya know". Got a few laughs, but also the stink-eye from the wife.

With our (once) four cats, we have this little "half tree" that wife got from unused display items at work. It is like a mini tree, split vertically so that it hangs on the wall. We loaded it with mini lights , beads and such. Very nice - and unreachable by the kitties. If I had the bucks, I'd market these little half trees.

My heart, though, belongs to the real-deal trees, as one of my earliest memories is of my dad and I going out on a moonlit night and cutting a small tree in north Georgia. The moonlight was so bright that we cast shadows on the snow. :( Man, now I'm all  for snow and to have my dad alive again.

It's all good. Everyone have a merry one, but let's ramp it down and still get in that good ol' TURKEY DAY! :P (oink)

Real trees are a million times better than fake ones. However, it's such a hassle to deal with it, so we just put up a fake one.

I have to say the real deal is the best!!! I remember one year we were setting up our Christmas tree, and the water was in the base, and the lights were plugged up, and mom said I had to crawl under it to the side against the corner, well as I was crawling, the tree fell over on me, so I got pricked and wet, but thankfully not the death chair Christmas tree style...   The real trees are by far the best!!! :D Even after my "little" incident...

I enjoy the real trees but I have the fiber optic tree now. I just put me some rosemary all around the living room.
