This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

It seems the higher winds were in PB & Martin Counties
instead of Broward & Dade.

This is cause it was Strenghtening as it exited in the Gulfstream...It was back to Cat 3 right off the coast and Martin St lucie got that Nasty back wall..Trust me, for me Wilma was worse than Frances and Jeanne..

I made the mistake in not boarding the slider & french door on my back covered porch, thinking @80 mph gusts at the most. Almost a big mistake, we had to put the couch in front of the slider & the dining room table in front of the french doors, just to keep the from blowing in. I will never make that mistake again. I will always have faith in the NHC track, but when it comes to the forecast intensity I will always prepare for the worst. I don't get rattled easily, one of the scariest moments of my life. The worst was the door shutters were lying on the floor of the shed. With 3 little kids & 2 elderly parents, I would have never forgiven myself if those doors would have blown in and hurt someone.

I believe that, as I said I went through Jeanne which if I'm not mistaken made landfall as a cat3 and Wilma was almost as bad in my opinion.

Luckily I did prepare as though it would be a major hurricane and even with the shutters up the slider on the patio was weaving in and out. I also had noises coming from the plumbing in my bathrooms and that has never happened in the past. It was very scarey
