This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I was wondering how many people will stay on storm2k site during the off season. My second favorite is the winter board especially those snow pics.

True senorpepr, if its not in my backyard meaning the Atlantic basin I will put hurricane season on the back burner for 6 months unless its a big monster storm.

I'll be checking the sports forum a lot. This being a crazy hurricane season, though, I won't be surprised if I have to check the tropics forum every now and then in the offseason.

Off season? The cyclone season only started two days ago for Australia.

I suppose I do have an off season in the way I don't have any ex tropical lows to track in the winter though. Wilma doesn't want to die http://www.met.fu-berlin.de/de/wetter/maps/Analyse_20051103.gif

I will stay. WPAC, Indian, and SW Pacific storms keep me busy, not to mention Off season Atlantic teasers and South Atlantic wonders.

I'm definitely staying put.

During the "off season", we got to track Cyclones Meena, Nancy, Olaf, Percy, Harvey, and Ingrid.

I stuck around last winter - not as much as during the season - and will do the same this year.

I'll do what I usually do...drift away like the season, get busy with life here withOUT worrying about actual storms - again, we don't need named storms to have big messes here, last November wasn't pretty around these parts...but we enjoy not having the official threats hanging over our heads and ride with the flow of the time that is.
I'll be back, ready to watch, learn and toss in my two cents next June.
(of course...it ain't over yet, but it sure is starting to feel like it - lucky for us...there are so many for whom this season won't *end* for a long long time :( )

I'll be watching severe weather during the spring months, I'm thinking about starting a system where every day I'll post the forecast on the outlook for severe weather, input from chasers, photos, etc. Depending on how popular it is I'll either start it this fall or next spring.
