S2K in Palm Beach Post !!
By Oct. 12, photos from weather satellites were showing an increasingly organized cloud mass south of Jamaica. Two days later, weather enthusiasts were buzzing about it on Web sites such as Storm2K.org, saying the system looked like a potential threat to Florida.
"What are the chances of a Hurricane Irene-type track?" asked Storm2K weather-watcher Christy, who identified herself as a pharmacy technician in Homestead.

Oh great, now we are being "watched" and quoted, no less.
Admins, how about not allowing viewing of this site by non-members??? If people want to join, that's fine. That makes the difference, legally, between being quoted without permission in the press, doesn't it? The way I understand it, it it's members only (i.e. no webbots indexing threads for Google, etc.), they have to contact and ask permission to quote someone?

i kinda wish they would join, pm you, and ask to make sure its ok with you for them to quote you, I mean, cause otherwise you could be joking around, sarcasm, and then it ends up in a newspaper, and you dont know that until someone puts in on here, then you find out the hard way, it could end up pissing someone off... If I ended up in the newspaper without them telling me first, I would be happy, but a little ticked if I didnt know about it...
EDIT: I misspelled "quote" I spelled it qoute...

They need to get the member's permission first before publishing it. I wouldnt want something of mine quoted in a newspaper without being asked first. Its being courteous. For all I know they could have quoted something I wasn't even being serious about or didn't want said outside of this forum.

FWIW, they sent me a PM wanting me to talk to them about my "prediction" a week in advance here that Wilma would come to Florida, so we don't know that Christy wasn't notified.

Well, OK, that makes things a lot clearer. If they contacted you, they obviously must have contacted Christy as well, which is what they should have done. Good job.

Hey guys, Bob King from the Palm Beach Post is very professional. I'm pretty confident that he would contact folks he was quoting. If not, it was likely an honest mistake.
Mr. King has a syndicated Blog that is carried in a lot of major newspapers around the country. He uses our maps in these blogs, which allows us to track the activity. The reach is incredible.
This isn't the first time Bob King has mentioned S2K in a report or his Blog. This is a really good thing for S2K.
Jonathon-
