Incredible map: 2004 and 2005 COMBINED

I just put this together and it is just incredible. Not even “shocking” describes it…

The 2004 and 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Seasons combined (43 storms total):

Look how strong they all were in the Gulf.

The only coastline I can actually see is the Texas.

Looks like Texas and PR - Lesser Antilles were the only places that fared well over the past 2 years.

I'd like to see what it's like for more seasons...say, 1851 (or 1886) to 2005? :D

I know that type of image is from Wunderground, now how can I mess with various seasons combined?

Not all of the state fared well - one destructive gal named Rita, worst hurricane to hit here in many, many years. So 2005 was the worst for us than any year that I've been alive, and then some.
But yes, you can see most of the Texas coastline - the rest of the state has fared well the past few seasons.

I that map shows very well the never-ending force field surrounding the Houston area. :lol:

It's a good thing hurricanes go poof over land... imagine if this vast, tangled, hellacious swath was shifted over the entire US! What a mess. Incredible!

Tampa Bay has managed to miss all 8 hurricanes that have hit FL in the past 14 months (barring any side-effects from Frances and Jeanne which were fairly minimal). How much longer will you go unscathed? 8-) :eek:

The Eastern GOM has been very quite, almost untouched...I don't think that will be the case for very much longer. :eek:

Looks more like a 5 year map than just 2 seasons.
Unbelievable.

And it does look like Texas has been kept pure (excepting one storm).

Just the person I was looking for! I'm flying to Atlanta on Friday to speak to the anual Asplundh convention (tree removal/trimming company). I was looking for a map of this seasons storms, including Wilma. I had your map pre-Wilma. Can you make one of the 2005 season through Beta that I can use in my talk? I'll give you credit for it.
