I won't be watching. The first movie was HORRIBLE. Plus, Desperate Housewives will be on both nights at the same time.

It's an obvious ratings stunt for the November sweeps, just by looking at the title.

It just fuels people's ignorance at hurricanes.

Including Larry King's asking Max Mayfield multiple times if there is a Category 6.

If I were the director of the NHC I would request CBS to show a more logical movie.

Yes... and a violent tornado destroyed Vegas. It was like 130 degrees in Chicago before the storm.

At least show something that could happen and is backed up with some facts... not something that has no chance.

I thought Day After Tomorrow was pretty bad too, but Category 6 was just unwatchable.

Oh somehow I bet this one will be.

Category 6 also involved a 500 MPH hurricane with a 600-something mb pressure.

I'm going to assume this movie will have 1000 mph winds with a -3 mb pressure, even though you call it Mach X after ~750

How about they make a movie showing a cat3 moving into New york? Or one to show a cat5 making landfall into Miami...That can in fact happen...

It's stupid because a realistic dramatization type movie would do so much better. People see the taglines for this movie and they'll be totally disinterested and the ratings will be mediocre like they were for the Category 6. But a realistic movie about a catastrophic hurricane, with a "based on what COULD happen", tagline could have much better ratings. Toss in a increased funding for hurricane research/preperation message and the movie wouldn't be offensive either. Oh well...

Wasn't that Maximum Velocity(I think that's what it was called)? Category 6 had like a 92 millibar pressure, I laughed so hard when I heard that.

The air would be unbreathable at 92 millibars. You would die in seconds.

It'd be less than seconds... you wouldn't suffer at all.

No I remember on category 6 a plane flying through the eye and the people freaking out. It had to be...I think.

There should be a moratorium placed on CBS to stop them from making movies.

I think I remember that too, but I was just saying wasn't the 500 mph cane on Maximum Velocity?

He's right about the pressure - it was something less than 100 mb in the first movie. I had forgotten about that. That was the worst movie Ive ever seen.
