There has been some indication of a hook in a few frames. SRV (velocity data) doesn't indicate anything significant, but any rotation would be so small the coarse resolution of the data could have missed it.

Just to note...

I recorded every tornado warning issued on hurricanes Katrina and Rita...

This is what I got:
Katrina: 230 tornado warnings
Rita: 620 tornado warnings

Hmm.. The Inland hurricane watch is in effect till Monday night.. I'm guessing a tornado watch will wait till AM. {unless the threat for overnight twisters is higher than I think}

Rita was a tornado monster for the Southeast. Even got into the act in my area.

Mississippi and West Alabama got pounded with warning after warning(some counties had 5 and 6 warnings back-to-back)... and that was when ABC 33/40 in Birmingham caught that large tornado on towercam north of Tuscaloosa.

I'm afraid this is just the start of a very long 48 hours for us Floridians.

ALWAYS remember in a tornado warning take shelter! I let one go, and the tornado came within 100 feet of my house in May of 2004. I could have been seriously injured, since then I treat the tornado warnings like it is going over my house.

I brought up the higher resolution radar data and there is in fact some rotation present...
Image
I pointed out the rotation there. Greens are winds moving away from the radar, red is towards.
